More Than An Art Teacher

This woman is very special to our family. We first met Svetlana last summer when she served as a summer hosting chaperone, and we were fortunate enough to host her for two weeks in our home. She is the art teacher at Orphanage #4, but that wouldn't begin to describe what she has meant to our girls, and hundreds of other orphans. In these bleak surroundings, Svetlana helps these heartbroken children see beauty in the world, and inspires them to create it. Our Nastia has been a constant presence in Svetlana's art room for the past 11 years. We could fill up a gallery with work our older daughter has been making since she was five years old. I was stunned to see quality of the art these kids produce, as seen in these gifts Nastia presented to Dana.
Galya gave me a beautiful cross-stitched Angel card. Inside it read: "We love you Dad. Your daughters Anastasia and Galya."

Christian was thrilled to get framed cross-stiches too!

Here are some fine examples of Nastia's art
Saying goodbye to Svetlana is going to be hard

Wow! The girls really have a gift for art! I have a drawing hanging by my desk at school that Kristina did when she was here last summer. I was struck by the detail she included for a child her age. Now I know why! What a jewel Svetlana is for these children!

Wow what talent the girls have, and from the picture of the room a very pleasant place to work. Just think they are my granddaughters.
Can't wait for some great big hugs

Jim, your birthday is coming fast, let us know how to make a donation to the foundation for your gift. Love to all of you.
